By any standards, it was a mite chilly at Apedale this weekend. Some much so that some people went as far as talking about wearing vests and the like. Despite this, work went on. A current project is to build a simple shelter for restored wagons, and a team braved the sub-zero temperatures to progress the frame work. Elsewhere, a cohort of new guards had a training session, which included experiencing what the use of the emergency brake feels like – with powerful air brakes, the key phrase is “hold on to something”!
