Despite rapidly deteriorating weather, this evening has seen a big arrival at Apedale. Our second ex-Ffestiniog Railway coach, no.120, has made the journey from Wales to Staffordshire. Unloading was completed before the heavens opened, which was no bad thing considering that it currently has no brakes. It seemed quite at home stood in the yard in the rain – doubtless it was reminded of summer days at Blaenau Ffestiniog. Going the other way was the Kerr, Stuart Joffre. Part of the on-going mission to have Apedale steam locos at every railway in Wales (noting that the big WDLR Hunslet is now at the Welsh Highland Railway for their event later this month), the Joffre is going for a brief holiday to Bala.
